چکیده

Abstract Groundwater contamination is a critical issue in Hanoi because it affects the water supply and treatment of crowded city. This study aimed to explore groundwater quality across whole area city identify potential sources. 206 samples were collected Holocene Pleistocene aquifers during two consecutive seasons (rainy 2015 dry 2016) assess understand which elements can be used as tracers for future monitoring. As result, spatial distributions major ions (Na, K, Ca, Mg, Cl − , SO 4 2− ) some selected (As, Li, Sr, Ba, Mn, Fe, Al, B, Br, total nitrogen (TN), P) obtained. Distributions contaminants varied not only on depth regions (aquifers) but also season-wise. In upper aquifer, As, Br TN, P concentrations significantly higher than common range. south city, we found elevated Na, aquifer. Additionally, such Fe did follow clear pattern. Their seem predominantly influenced by geological processes controlling area's hydro-geochemical environment. However, high P, particularly central Hanoi, supported idea from surface. study's results might help managers foster sustainable resource strategies.

Contamination by arsenic and other trace elements in tube-well water and its risk assessment to humans in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Concentrations of As and other trace elements and their association were examined in groundwater (n = 25) and human hair (n = 59) collected at Gia Lam District and Thanh Tri District, suburban areas of Hanoi, Vietnam, in September 2001. Concentrations of As in the groundwater ranged from <0.10 to 330 microg/l, with about 40% of these exceeding WHO drinking water guideline of 10 microg/l. Also, ...

Sources of contamination in rainwater by major and heavy elements in Arak, Iran

Measurements of Pb, Cu, Zn, As, Ni, Hg, and Fe heavy metals and major elements and components such as Ca, HCO3, SO4, Na, K, Mg and Cl in soluble rain fractions were performed on rainwater collected at Arak plain during the rainy seasons of 2012. Concentrations of the heavy metals in the soluble fractions decreased for Fe, Pb, Zn, Ni, Cu, As and Hg, respectively and the major elements and compon...
